NUP Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine said the military and police are arresting his team members found distributing appointment letters for National Unity Platform polling agents ahead of tomorrow's Thursday 14th general elections.
"The military and police are arresting people found distributing appointment letters for our polling agents ahead of tomorrow's elections In Lira, Moroto, and many other places. The people coordinating this are detained and the materials confiscated." Said Bobi Wine
Kyagulanyi says the party secretariat team has been trying to get answers from the Electoral Commission about the matters and they have yet failed to respond over concerns.
" Our secretariat team has been trying to get an answer from the electoral commission about this, but they are yet to respond to the urgent calls." he said.
He, however noted that a candidate is permitted to have at least two agents at a polling station and their role is to make sure that there is no vote-rigging at the polling station and he said. President Museveni, is doing that to frustrate his official agents, he added.
"Under the law, a candidate is permitted to have two agents a polling station. Their role is to ensure there's no rigging at the polling station. With observers thrown out and Museveni doing everything to frustrate our official agents. I call upon you all citizens to be vigilant and protect your vote." He quoted further.
