President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sent a strong message to leaders over the increased number of cases regarding COVID-19 Deaths and new infections.
This was on Thursday 13th August 2020 while on his way to inspect works at Nytil Textile Industry in Jinja.
On his way while meeting a group of Ugandans, the President called upon leaders especially the political actors to give people the correct message regarding COVID-19 such as wearing face masks covering the nose and mouth, washing hands/sanitizing and keeping a social distance.
"We can avoid the disease and treat our people as long as we follow the guidelines that have been communicated time and again" The President said.
This was all at Kiyola Nakisunga where he had to drive away immediately to avoid forming a crowd.
At the time of writing this, Uganda had 1,353 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 180 active cases, 1,141 recoveries, 16,349 contacts listed, 1,939 under quarantine and 11 deaths.
