Laroo-Pece Division in Gulu City has received a new police patrol vehicle from the Office of the President through the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to strengthen security operations and improve crime prevention across the division.
The vehicle, registration number UP 5742, was officially received by the Mayor of Laroo-Pece Division and National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson for Gulu City, Her Worship Aber Gifter, together with the Division’s District Police Commander (DPC), Mr. Mukasa Stephen.
The provision of the patrol vehicle follows a request by the Laroo-Pece Division leadership for additional logistical support to enhance security operations and improve the capacity of police officers to respond to security concerns within the area.
The new vehicle is expected to improve police mobility, reduce response times during emergencies, and facilitate faster intervention in cases requiring police attention. It will also support ongoing efforts to prevent and combat crime, strengthen law enforcement, and promote public safety across Laroo-Pece Division.
The acquisition marks an important step in addressing the division’s security needs by equipping police officers with the necessary transport to carry out patrols and respond more effectively to incidents.
The division leadership is expected to work closely with the police to ensure that the vehicle is put to effective use in protecting residents, maintaining law and order, and strengthening security throughout the community.
The support from the Office of the President, delivered through the Inspector General of Police, highlights the importance of collaboration between political leadership and law enforcement agencies in addressing local security challenges.
