Police in Pader District are investigating the suspected suicide of a 55-year-old man, identified as James Onek, who was found hanging from a tree on Sunday morning.
According to reports, Onek had been accused of sexually molesting his underage niece, who reportedly suffers from Nodding Syndrome. The allegations had reportedly prompted plans for him to appear before clan elders to respond to the accusations.
However, Onek reportedly failed to appear before the clan elders as expected. He was later found hanging from a tree, prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
