Gulu Primary School has officially invited Patrick Onen, founder of Anek Foundation, to host and headline upcoming fundraising events aimed at supporting underprivileged pupils and the school’s Blind Annex.
Anek Foundation confirmed receipt of photos and an official letter from the Headteacher of Gulu Primary School extending the invitation to Onen, also known as Hyper Hype.
“To be honest, I see so much of my younger self in these children. I’m truly emotional right now, moved to tears of joy,” Onen said. “This has been my lifelong dream: to return to the very place where my own learning journey began. This opportunity means far more to me than any award or recognition ever could.”
The fundraising events will be organized by Anek Foundation in partnership with Gulu Primary School. Proceeds will provide better education and opportunities for unprivileged children and learners at the Blind Annex.
“Gulu Primary School has shaped so many lives — countless leaders, doctors, lawyers, and changemakers all started here. It is a true honour to stand alongside this community,” Onen added.
Anek Foundation urged the public to get involved: “This is for a great cause. Let’s all share the love and give these children a brighter future. Home is home.”
The project includes a live music concert and a film shoot for Prodigal, a movie based on Onen’s life story. Local children will be cast as extras.
