Ugandan cultural ambassador and multi-instrumentalist Godfrey Opio has launched his music tour in the United States, starting in Massachusetts. The tour will later head to Minnesota, New York, California, Kansas City, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Chicago.
Opio, who is also a music educator based in the U.S., is conducting a cultural exchange program aimed at sharing Ugandan heritage with international audiences.
“I am delighted to be in Massachusetts tonight, where I will be conducting a cultural exchange program, sharing Ugandan heritage with the global community,” Opio posted on Facebook.
“This endeavor brings me immense joy, fulfills my purpose, and defines my role as a cultural ambassador from Uganda, East Africa. Join us for an enchanting evening of folk stories, songs, and traditional instrumental performances from Uganda. Stay tuned to our media channels for updates.”

He has been on the music scene for the last three years and his wholehearted performances have helped him win over fans wherever he performs.
Opio who has committed himself in selling Luo music in the US started his musical journey in 2014 before moving to the United States in 2023.
His music speaks about his status and his background where he comes from back in Northern Uganda where conflict lasted for more than 20 years leaving many people displaced in the IDP Camps.
