As Uganda prepares for H.E. President Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony tomorrow, Kilak North MP Hon. Dr. Gilbert Olanya’s mother, Acan Cerina, has died after a long illness.
Her death was confirmed by Olanya’s publicist, Rachkara Robinson. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Speaking to Robinson, the legislator's mother passed away on Monday evening, 11 May 2026, at Gulu Imaging Centre in Gulu, where she had been taken for an X-ray.
