National Water and Sewerage Corporation confirmed on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, that Gulu City faces water supply interruptions after a speeding vehicle rammed and vandalized a section of the Karuma–Gulu bulk pipeline.

In a statement on its page, NWSC said the management “wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be service interruptions in Gulu City” to allow for repair works.*

According to NWSC, repair teams are already on site but cannot estimate how long fixes will take until the wrecked vehicle is removed and engineers complete a full damage assessment.

“The Estimated Time For Repairs shall be communicated after clear site assessment and removal of the motor vehicle,” the corporation noted.

Residents are advised to store water immediately and use it sparingly as crews work. NWSC management added that “all inconveniences are highly regretted."
