Uganda Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has gone into isolation after some of his contacts tested positive for Covid-19.

The Prime minister took to Twitter “Friends, I have gone into self-isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for #COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure,”

This comes after the Ministry of Health said 35 more people had tested positive for the virus, pushing Uganda's tally of confirmed cases to 522. There are no COVID-19 related deaths so far.

Earlier this week in Gulu, the district LC Chairman Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, Obol Justin Simple Man and other task force members have also been quarantined after coming into contact with a ministry of health officials who tasked positive for COVID-19.
