Gulu City mayoral aspirant Gunya Julius Labeja has refuted allegations of being a project of the NRM Secretary General Richard Toodwong.
Rumors have been circulating that Julius Labeja is being funded by Toodwong to oust incumbent mayor Okwonga Alfred from office.
Gunya states he's not a project of Toodwong, describing their relationship as employer-employee.
He says the conflict arises because he's running as an independent candidate and Toodwong, his supervisor, wants to ensure his flag bearer wins.
Gunya emphasized, "I'm a Gulu-born candidate with passion for the city. If I were a project, I'd just be reading from a script." Follow the link to watch his full statement>>https://youtu.be/HNSxyrh-2UI?si=nJWT2XQvxYGoD-HH
"Toodwong and I have an employer-employee relationship, but that's over. Now I'm running for political office. The issue arises because I'm an independent candidate, and he has to supervise and ensure his flag bearer wins - that's where the conflict is. People think I'm a project because of this. "I can't be a project; I'm born and raised in Gulu, and I speak with passion about Gulu city. If I were a project, I'd just be reading from a script." - Gunya opens up.
