Over 4,500 LRA returnees have threatened government of a possible returning to the bush over government neglect and failed promises of resettlement as agreed on.
They cry fowl over failed attempts to get their voices heard through the numerous local leaders, an act that has angered them citing a blink future.
"We have had several communication with government officials from Acholi sub-region regarding our condition but no one has helped us deliver this." The returnees said.
Adding that, their interest was to specifically meet President Museveni and brother Gen Salim Saleh so as to table their concern but with no success.
All they claim, they have been denied access to the president several times besides being patronised
They further claim that, they have been sidelined from undertaking several government projects and this will be costly for NRL and they threaten not to vote in the upcoming elections on January 15, 2026.
They have however set an ultimatum of 4th of January 2026 as the latest time government can revert this issues resolve it they firm and second opinion in their next cause of action.
"Listen carefully, government that helped returnees from the bush. You convinced us to return home, and we have done so, but we haven't received any support from you. As a result, we're planning to return to the bush and start a war anytime soon."
''We've struggled for three years to meet the president and Gen Salim to submit our problems and get support, but we've been denied multiple times. Meanwhile, even ghetto youth (aguu) are getting funded, but we're the ones who suffered a lot and aren't being cared for. We don't have homes, land, or leadership jobs to earn a living."
