A section of residents and local leaders from Gulu District are currently in hot soup for making a serious request to President Museveni to reconsider his decision to evict migrant cattle keepers from northern Uganda.

The President, through the Minister for Northern Uganda, Kenneth Omona, and security officials, ordered all migrant herdsmen to voluntarily vacate Northern Uganda with their cattle within 14 days, effective immediately, or risk forceful eviction.

It should be noted that it is just remaining only two days from the 14 days given that the errant cattle keepers who are causing social disorder leave the affected regions.

The directive follows a presidential executive order issued in response to multiple reports of misconduct by the herdsmen.

The order came after locals and leaders across the country raised issues that were affecting their areas and crippling economic growth.
