Naklet Okidi, a student of Gulu University was on Tuesday, 11, 2025 brutally murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants.
The young student was attacked by the killer while in his hostel after returning from watching a football match at the house of his friend identified as James Oola and that he left at around midnight.
According to Johnson Akena, the area LC1 chairperson, Okidi was later heard crying for help while in his room and that people who rushed there, found him in a pool.of blood.
However, Akena said Okidi was rushed to St Mary's hospital where he died the following day.
David Mudong Ongom, the Aswa West Region Spokesperson confirmed the incident saying the deceased's friend, Oola was arrested to help police with the investigation of the case registered at Gulu East Police Post under CRB 028/2025.
Mudong said a blood stained machete, bedsheets, and a shirt belonging to the deceased have been tendered as an exhibit and the deceased's body was taken to St Mary's hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
