The Chief Coordinator Operation Wealth Creation, Caleb Akandwanano alias Gen Salim Saleh has been named Oriba by the people of Acholi.
Gen Saleh has acquired the new name for his role in restoring peace and unity among the people of Acholi and Uganda at large.
While speaking at his 65th birthday in Gulu City, Gen Otema Awany stated clearly that he was baptized with that name because he has fought a serious fight in uniting the people of Acholi.
According to Gen Charles Otema Awany, Oriba is the man who unites people and Gen Salim is that true person.
"In 1986 when NRM/NRA took power, people in Northern Uganda were fighting each other. Gen Salim Saleh called me and said, “Go and tell the Acholis to stop fighting. We’re all brothers and sisters,” - Lt. Gen. Charles Otema Awany.
He went ahead and asked God to continue giving the General more life, saying ''If we have about 10 people like you, we shall have a better Uganda.
