The Uganda People's Defense Force and Uganda Police Force have launched an investigation into an incident in which a soldier shot and killed three people, leaving two others in critical condition in Agago District.
The incident happened on Sunday 20, October 2024 midnight in Ngora East village, Ngora Parish, Paimol sub county, Agago District.
The suspect identified as Private Bonny Ameny allegedly escaped from his place of work at Lokum detach and went out to commit the crime.
The deceased have been identified as Apiyo Sunday, 21, Akidi Santino, 47 and Ajalo Florence, 16 whose bodies have been taken to Dr.Amberossoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo for postmortem while the injured including Kidega Charles Kumakech, 47 and Apiyo Janet 20 have been taken to Dr Ambrossoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo for further management.
According to reports, Pte Amenoy Bonny, 45 had misunderstandings with his wife one Angom Betty who escaped from him and it's further alleged that he went on a shooting rampage as he was looking for the man who could have taken her.
