Former Lango Province head coach David Obua has been sacked after less than a year in charge at Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC), with Robert Mukasa as the caretaker of the club at the moment.

David Obua has been sacked alongside his first assistant Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri, and fitness coach, Kawa.

Obua joined URA FC in November 2023 and spent only 5 months there where he managed to secure 8 wins, 8 losses and 4 draws.

They are ninth in Startimes Uganda Premier League behind league leaders Kitara FC.

The club made the decision official in a press statement issued this Friday.

“After careful consideration and mutual agreement, URA FC and Head Coach David Obua have decided to part ways, terminating his one-year contract five months into his tenure,” read the club statement in part.

The statement continued. “Alongside him, his first assistant, Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri, and fitness coach, Kawa, have also left the club.

Since his appointment in November 2023, Obua has guided the team through 20 matches across all competitions, managing 8 wins, 8 losses, and 4 draws.

For the remaining part of the season, Robert Mukasa will assume the role of caretaker coach alongside Ilic Milosh, Allan Owiny, Robert Ssentongo, and goalkeeping coach Swaibu Ssebagala.

“The club expresses gratitude to Coach Obua for his contributions and wishes him the very best in his future endeavors.” The statement concluded.
