After years of starvation and longing for love, Democratic Party (DP) President and Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Hon Norbert Mao has finally found love again and was introduced over the weekend by new fiancee Beatrice Kayanja.
Mao's own journey to this point involved the dissolution of his 16-year marriage to Naomi Acheing Adong by the High Court (Family) in 2019. Justice Godfrey Namundi granted the divorce on May 27, 2019, responding to Achieng's accusations of cruelty and desertion. Mao, who shared three children with Achieng, allegedly deserted his wife for eight years.
The ceremony took place at Kayanja’s family residence in Najjanakumbi, a suburb near the capital of Kampala.
The introduction ceremony, a cherished tradition in Ugandan culture, drew an esteemed guest list, including Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and Member of Parliament Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari.
Close family members and friends gathered to witness and celebrate this significant milestone in the lives of the prominent Justice Minister and his fiancée.
The occasion symbolized a meaningful step forward for Hon. Norbert Mao and Beatrice Kayanja as they embarked on the journey towards formalizing their union.
Amidst the presence of respected figures and loved ones, the event underscored the importance of love, commitment, and community support in Ugandan society.
