UPDF Soldier Who Shot Dead Football Coach In Agago Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

A UPDF soldier who shot dead a football coach from Agago district earlier this year has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Private Mukanza Michael was accused of shooting dead Omol Justine, a coach of Aguta United Football Club in Paimol sub county, Agago district.

Pte Mukanza shot Omol on May 31st after he demanded to be allowed to join other football on the pitch and his demands were ignored then he forced himself onto the pitch where confusion immediately ensured before he was physically ejected. He later picked his gun and shot the football team coach.

The case hearing took place at Labwordong barracks before UPDF court martial in Kokil, Paimol sub county where the crime was committed.
