Legendary musician Odoch Allan alias Smokie Allan had said he is the first artiste to introduce reggae music in Northern Uganda.
"I consider myself the one who introduced, the one who hustled and put a lot of energy in Northern Uganda for reggae dancehall to be recognized." - he stated.
He revealed all this when he was asked how he met the late rapper, Lumix. He revealed that his elder brother helped him to link up with the fallen legend.
"The first time I knew Lumix was in school that is Jinja college. When I joined senior one (S.4) Lumix was leaving senior four (S.6) and we didn't talk much there but we met on the streets at Luo Night and he recognized my talent through my brother." Smokie narrated.
When he met the late Lumix Da Don, they formed a duo and sang for peace during the war in Northern Uganda.
"I have sung during the war, I motivated a lot of people during the war, we have entertained people for so many years. Now that there is peace I'm very happy that we have brought something like this on board."
Smokie Allan expressed that Lumix Da Don put out a lot of effort and energy to introduce hip hop in the region.
"As today we are celebrating Lumix, Lumix put effort and that time no one knew hip hop and a few who understands, know what am talking about." - Smokie Allan concluded.
The late rapper Lumix was one of the living music legends in the Ugandan entertainment industry. He inspired many artistes to join the music industry with his talent, fame, and success.
