Police in Kwania district have arrested the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (D/RDC) Mr Jacob Jonga for physically assaulting Ms Gillian Akullu, the RDC of Alebtong.
Mr Jonga who has been Deputy RDC for over five (5) years, was arrested on Sunday after beating up Ms Akullu to near death in front of the people.
His arrest has been confirmed by the Office of the President.
“Yes, he has been arrested for assaulting Ms Akullu. We can’t allow such people to taint the good image of the President’s Office. He will have to face the law,” an official from the Office of the President told reporters on Monday morning.
The source expressed the need to protect the positive reputation of the President’s Office, stating that individuals who engage in such behaviour should be held accountable and face legal consequences.
