Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi was on Tuesday, 21st February arrested while protesting the high cost of living in his country, Kenya.
The comedian tried to lead a group of youth protesting the high cost of living in a bid to secure an audience.
The protestors, a group of shirtless muscular men with chains around their necks carried placards with writings noting the expensive prices of commodities.
“Unga juu, mafuta juu. Stima juu, taxi juu” the placards read.
In the viral videos that has sparked social media, the comedian is seen resisting as police officers hurled him up into the police car.
Soon after, a rat race emerged in the city center as police easily picked the semi-naked and distinctively dressed youth and subsequently loaded them in police cars. While teargas was unleashed.
He was arrested together with his fellow half-naked protesters in front of the Kenya parliamentary gate where they gathered up.
