Authorities in South Sudan have on Friday, 10th June 2022 handed over four Ugandan nationals who were held captive during a fire exchange between military forces (UPDF and SSPDF) last week.
The abductees were identified as Patrick Obwona, two-year-old Ramsey Rwot-Twero, Joanna Acen and Charles Olweny Langoya, all residents of Nyimur sub county in Lamwo district.
The four abductees were received by the former Amuru District RDC and now Arua RDC Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborn.
''Due to our bilateral engagement with South Sudan and our brotherhood, today the authority of South Sudan handed over 4 people back home,''~ Mr Osborn took to Facebook after receiving the abductees.
According to Osborn, it took very serious negotiations to have the abductees handed over back to Uganda.
He however, appealed to South Sudan Army leaders to continue exhibiting such attributes of border coexistence to embrace the free movement protocol under East African Community.
