Prominent Gospel artist, pastor and enterpreneur Odong Romeo has vowed to expand his ice cream business after acquiring a brand new ice cream making machine worth UGX 8 million.
The Yoo Leng hitmaker believe that through his ice cream business in a few years to come he will be supplying the whole Northern Uganda with ice cream and employ hundreds of people into his company called Yoo Leng Impects Limited.
Odong Romeo who is a teacher by profession with ability of changing people's mindset through his business in Northern Uganda believes that one day he will a billionaire.
When asked why of late he ventured into ice cream business, Odong Romeo said he is a farmer as well as a businessman with a registered company called 'Yoo Leng Impects Limited which deals in entertainment business, import, export and other varities of different businesses.
''The reason why am doing ice cream business is the alternative am givining to people. Gulu has become a city and we normarlly import ice cream from far, other districts and cities but I believe we the potential we have in Gulu city, Acholi land, we can eat the products of the land I want to tell you that I get my milk supply from Gulu country dairy, I get my sugar for doing ice cream from Atiak sugar which is still within the Achoil land so we have many potential'. He said.
During an interviewed with this website, Romeo said he got his money to start up his business through farming when he planted soya beans, groundnuts and others which brought him some good amount of money after selling them.
He however, advised fellow artistes who are still depending on music as source of their income that music shouldn't define them because he is also an artiste
''One as an artiste, music should not define, we are more than musicians. personally I am an artiste, a businessman, a husband etc, so music shouldn't restrict how you think about yourself, should not limit your ability to create options, variations, alternatives and we should be able to diversify. Try other lines of businesses so that if this one is not working. I also want to tell them that we can not wait for government to do for us everything, we need to start thinking outside the box and do things and create alternatives for people'. he concluded.
