Government Chief Whip Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng has commended Members of Parliament for enriching debate on the government’s livestock restocking programme, highlighting proposals aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in the initiative.
Aceng said MPs had offered practical ideas, including the use of barazas—community dialogue platforms—to help identify rightful beneficiaries of the programme.
She also noted that such community engagements could help address corrupt tendencies that could potentially undermine the implementation of the livestock restocking programme.
The Chief Whip urged stakeholders to consider the MPs’ proposals as efforts to strengthen accountability and ensure that the intended beneficiaries receive support under the programme.
