Footballer and also musician Okello Tito has called out the Acholi province leaders for their alleged lack of transparency and accountability.
Okello Tito accused the province's leaders of mismanaging the funds and now trying to pass the buck to the fans.
This comes a few days after Hon Gilbert Olanya rallied Acholi community to unite and fundraise for the repair of the Acholi Province bus.
"That bus was never given for free to anyone," Okello said, implying that the province had a responsibility to maintain it using the revenue it generated.
The Acholi Province bus was involved in an accident in September this year when it knocked an Elephant between Dima and Karuma on the Gulu-Kampala highway.
Meanwhile on the careful day of the crash the same bus had been hired to ferry students in a study too among numerous business and now they are seeking public support as the bus rots at police.
The province had celebrated a big win in 2019, taking home the Fufa Drum trophy. As a reward, they were given a shiny new bus by the president to use for their team's transport and promotional activities.
The bus was meant to be a symbol of their success and a tool to help them tour the country, promoting football and bringing in revenue.
But now, the bus is in disrepair, and the province is asking supporters to donate money to fix it. The question on everyone's mind was, where had the money gone that the bus had generated since 2019? Hadn't it been making a profit, bringing in teams and fans for matches and events?
"That bus was never given for free to anyone where is the money that bus was making since 2019 when it was given to the province after winning 2019 fufa drum now you want to fundraise from people to repair it miyuuu." - Tito Okello demands.
