Kitgum artists under their umbrella Kitgum Creative Arts Association have warned Gulu based artist masquerading as the only designated NRM artist not to interfere with the visit of the president in East Acholi.
They insist that artists from within Gulu can entertain the President when he pitch camps in West Acholi and they will take care of him while campaigning in East Acholi.
The revelation comes after NRM secretariat invested a whopping 100 million shillings for performing artists in each region to woes the crowd towards their candidate – President Museveni during his campaign rally.
MC Benny, the interim chair for the association said their strategy is called 'sustainable campaign' a model that does not require artist to move from district to district but rather stick to their location and foster real change and support since they are part of the local community.
"Our strategy is called sustainable campaign where we find that our artists from here after performing, they should remain here and will continue to campaign for the president till the election is done." – Benny said.
Stamping his feet that hey will keep their acts within their area of jurisdiction and ask artist from Gulu too to stick to their area of prominence without lingering around in the hunt for money.
