A tragic accident that occurred early Monday morning along Gulu- Kampala road has claimed the life of one person and leaving several injured.
The incident involved a Makome bus registration number UAR 339M heading to Kampala from Gulu after it collided with a herd of elephants near Karuma Travellers Inn.
According to reports, the bus departed Gulu at 12:30 a.m. The accident occurred when the vehicle encountered a group of four elephants on the road. The bus struck one of the animals, causing severe damage to the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified Okema Patrick the bus driver. Six people were critically injured and were transported by ambulance for urgent medical care and other passengers with minor injuries were taken to Kiryandongo hospital.
