Police in Gulu East Division have arrested two men following an aggravated robbery and sexual assault in Cubu A&B Cell, Laroo-Pece Division, on 4 May 2026.
According to police, the incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. near the ongoing railway line construction.
Victims Kidega Michael, 29, Ayot Harriet, 25, and reporter Odongping Stephen, 22, were traveling to Laping Oloyo Village in Omoro District after learning their family land had allegedly been sold without consent.
Police say the suspects, Kilama Denis, 32, a security guard with Corporate Security Company Limited, and Adoa Gilbert, 19, a casual worker, stopped the group and demanded valuables.
When Kidega asked for a reason, Kilama grabbed him by the collar and slapped him. Adoa then called other accomplices armed with a pickaxe, hoes, and spades.
Kilama is a resident of Butiwaa Village, Lalogi Sub-County, Omoro District. Adoa resides in Layibi Go Down, Bardege-Layibi Division, Gulu City.
The group assaulted Kidega and Ayot, and robbed Kidega of UGX 5,000,000 meant for his motorcycle spare parts business. Ayot was also physically assaulted and sexually assaulted. Police said she was held captive until officers responded and rescued her.
According to police, a case of aggravated robbery was registered under CRB 097/2026 at Gulu East.
