Six people were killed and 14 others admitted to hospital after a collision involving a Nile Star Bus and a fish lorry in Purongo Town Council, Nwoya District, early Monday morning.
The accident happened at about midnight along the Arua-Pakwach Highway. The bus, registration number UBF 736U, was carrying about 67 passengers from Arua to Kampala. The lorry was reportedly headed to Arua City.
The victims were reportedly rushed to Anaka General Hospital in Anaka Town Council, with plans underway to refer some to St Mary's Hospital Lacor in Gulu City.
Nwoya Resident District Commissioner Christopher Omara said six people were confirmed dead by Monday morning. He attributed the crash to reckless driving and said more details would be released soon.
