Rev. Fr. Eric Justin Uma, the Holy Rosary Parish Priest, has advised the Acholi community to exercise discernment in electing visionary leaders who will facilitate their socioeconomic advancement and enlightenment.

Speaking during last Sunday's Mass at Holy Rosary Parish in Gulu City, Fr. Uma counselled the congregation that leaders lacking a clear agenda do not merit election. He emphasized that leaders who prioritize purchasing alcohol to induce intoxication are undesirable.

"If you are aware of the issues but are swayed by financial considerations and fail to uphold the truth, carefully evaluate the campaign promises of prospective leaders. What is their plan to improve the lives of the Acholi people? Most of our current leaders do not deserve reelection. A leader without an agenda should not be elected. We require leaders who will empower us to overcome poverty and darkness. We do not need leaders who merely provide alcohol to induce drunkenness,'' - he stated.

Fr. Uma urged Christians to redirect their focus from pursuing leaders to celebrating their children's educational achievements, which will ultimately transform their lives.

''If you cease to pursue leaders and instead focus on your educated children, your lives will undergo a positive transformation.''
