Former Gulu District woman member of parliament aspirant and singer cum politician Lalam Irene has declared her intention to contest in 2026 parliamentary elections, seeking political comeback to unseat Hon Laker Sharon Balmoi.
Lalam Irene who once contested for Gulu District Woman Member of Parliament though she lost to NRM's Sharon Balmoi hopes to reclaim the seat come 2026.
Lalam Irene who is popularly known for her musical name as Liama on Sunday night announced her comeback to remove incumbent Hon Laker Sharon Balmoi from the office. She will be running on the National Unity Platform ticket.
She took to her Facebook page saying due to public demand, she is back to represent her people if Gulu District as the official flag bearer of the National Unity Platform.
"Due to Public Demand, am back to Represent my People of Gulu District as the Official Flag Bearer of the National Unity Platform. A New Gulu District and a New Uganda together with my President Bobi Wine! People Power Our POWER #ProtestVote2026."
