President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been officially nominated to run for president for seventh term comes 2026 presidential elections.
Speaking at his nomination Tuesday morning, President Yoweri Museveni said it is important to convince Ugandans about what has been achieved so far and to share plans for the future.
President Museveni who is seeking yet another term in the office says the youth are his biggest supporters, asking them to look at a 1986 image of Lubowa, which was then a coffee plantation.
He noted that the area is now fully developed, adding that satellite images comparing 1986 and today speak louder than words.
The nomination took place at the Electoral Commission grounds in Lweza, Entebbe Road. He becomes the first presidential candidate to be nominated for the 2026 General Election.
Museveni has been in power for 39 years and he's likely to get another 5 years in office.
