President Yoweri Museveni has expressed his disappointment at the Acholi opposition leaders who recently blocked an ambulance taking a truck driver who had testd positive at Malaba border for COVID-19 from being isolated at Gulu regional referral Hospital.
This comes after Hon Odonag Otto and team were praised by Acholi people for intercepted a COVID-19 positive Kenyan truck driver at Kamdindi and forced health workers to drive him back to Kampala of recently, but according to President Museveni speeches seemed not to be happy with their actions.
“Some people like the opposition group in the Acholi area have been interfering with the health works. These are enemies of the country because Entebbe, where all these cases are confined, is in my neighbourhood but you haven't heard me complain." President Museveni said.
“We are tired of idiots. These people who are looking for cheap popularity are enemies of the people. I don’t like that type of leadership. That group must be watched and they must desist from interfering with the work of the health workers.”
President Museveni was speaking at the official hand over of donated vehicles to the ministry of health to help in the fight against Covid19.
The donated cars, Museveni said he aimed at building a crisis-free response for the Ministry of Health and therefore assured the country that they will not be kept for another crisis in future.
