Kaliro Sugar, a subsidiary of Alam Group has today donated 100 tonnes of sugar to strengthen the fight against coronavirus in the country.
The donation was handed over to the Minister of Health, Jane Aceng by the Kilaro sugar company staffs.
According to Aceng, 100 tonnes of sugar will be distributed to Entebbe Grade B Hospital, Mulago Specialized Hospital and health workers managing COVID- 19 patients.
The minister took her Facebook page and Minister of Health page while appreciating the Sugar company Group for great response towards the fight against COVID-19 "My humble appreciation to the private sector for the support that they have continue to accord the nation."
"Thank you Kaliro sugar for the generous donation of 100 tonnes of sugar as part of your efforts in the response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This donation will go to a long way in plugging the plug where we have a gap. The sugar will be distributed to health facilities." She stated
"This pandemic is evolving but Ugandans, if we units and commit to following preventive measures and guideline issued by the Government of Uganda, we can win this battle." She added.
