Residents of Agago District in the Acholi sub-region have resorted to exchanging their National IDs with local brew.
Mr. Vicent, the LC1 of Oluda center village in Agago District says that is too ashaming if his residents have resorted to exchanging their National IDs with local brew.
He went ahead and warned his residents that they will miss a lot of support the government is planning to bring to citizens with National IDs.
"At this moment, we are in the period of corona campaign, and you need to protect yourself from wherever you are and you need to keep your ID in case anything happens to you." The government has made for you the National ID for free but you are exchanging your ID with something worthless." He warned his residents.
Meanwhile, speaking to one of the NIRA staff members in Agago District who didn't allow his names to be disclosed, heshe that is is a very big crime. People should learn how to keep their National ID because it doesn't only help them to only get government supports but it also helps the government to budget well for its citizens.
