Ever since, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation relocated to Northern Uganda, Gulu City has registered numerous entertainers coming from across the country in the name of seeking financial support from him.
In a handwritten letter dated November 27, Gen Saleh has appealed to singer Eddy Kenzo who is also the presidential advisor on creatives and president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), to address the situation.
Gen Saleh highlighted that these activities were disrupting his busy schedule and the development programmes in northern Uganda.
Below reads his message
A Message to Uganda’s Musicians
Gen. Salim Saleh, Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), has expressed concerns regarding musicians flocking to Gulu for Christmas festivities and shows. He emphasizes that they (musicians) are interfering with his work and programs in Northern Uganda.
The OWC leadership advises all stakeholders in the creative arts especially @UgandaMusicians and @unmfederationug to remain mindful of their engagements and align with national priorities aimed at socio-economic transformation. Collaboration and mutual respect for development efforts are essential as we work towards uplifting communities across Uganda
