Moris Sirikinti Ekuka Ogwal Adongo passed away on Saturday, 16th November from Lira University Teaching Hospital, leaving behind an indelible legacy.
He was not only a fantastic musician, he committed his time playing a traditional string instrument likened to an African harp.
Known for his ability to preserve and share Lango’s rich musical heritage, Moris Sirikinti’s influence spanned decades.
His powerful lyrics and rhythms celebrated Lango culture and made him a beloved figure in Uganda’s traditional music world.
Moris Sirikinti was a master storyteller and one of the few who kept Lango’s traditional music alive.
Tributes have continued to flow for the man who gained legendary status for his musical appeal especially in Lango region in which he bridged the gap between the past and the present, making him not only a musician but a cultural ambassador.
Plans for a memorial and funeral service are underway, with the Lango community preparing to celebrate his life and legacy.
