Amolatar woman arrested for hacking husband to death during a domestic fight

A 26 year old woman in Amolatar District, Northern Uganda has been arrested for brutality ending the life of her husband.

Apio Sarah, a resident of Adum cell, Adum ward, Team Town Council Amolatar District has been arrested and detained on allegations of killing her husband Oyari Felix by assault.

North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema said that once investigation is completed the file will be submitted to RCSA for perusal and legal advice before arranging her to court on the charge of murder.

Police report indicates that on 29th Jan 2024, the deceased Oyari Felix 43 yrs old had a domestic misunderstanding with his wife Apio Sarah (suspect now) where sarah picked a dry piece of firewood with sharp end and hit the deceased on the forehead.

Oyari sustained injuries and fainted and the suspect later took the husband inside the house, until in the morning when the condition worsened.

She later contacted her in-laws for help unfortunately along the way while he was being rushed to the hospital, Oyali passed on.

The brothers of the deceased reported to the Etam police post and the woman was intercepted and arrested by police while running away.

The suspect is now held in police custody for investigation as the deceased's body conveyed to Amolatar HCIV pending post-mortem examinations.
