Gulu University Communication Officer Ojok James Onono demands police defend Gulu Deputy RCC Banya Peter, who's apologized for Aguus security issues.
This follows Banya's apology after attacks on chapati sellers by street gangs on Tuesday, 17, 2026.
He points out that Banya's toughness on Aguus issues even led to him being taken to human rights by some bad elements in security forces.
Onono questions who is pushing Banya to apologize, citing his hard work in fighting for peace in the city.
"Deputy RCC Banya is not the person to apologize," Onono states, adding that Banya deserves promotion, not blame, for security failures not of his making.
